PCR cloning requires an existing template, such as a cDNA library or genomic DNA. Gene synthesis chemically assembles a sequence directly from nucleotide monomers and does not require a template. It is suitable for rare genes or genes without an available template, sequences requiring extensive codon optimization, artificially designed synthetic-biology elements, and sequences containing toxic or difficult-to-amplify structures.
Yes. Based on the protein amino acid sequence, we can perform reverse translation and sequence optimization by considering the codon preferences of the target host, GC content, repetitive sequences, secondary structure, and other factors, then design and synthesize a DNA sequence suitable for expression.
For standard sequences, turnaround can be as fast as 1–7 calendar days for fragments under 400 bp, about 7–10 days for fragments under 1.2 kb, about 10–15 days for 1.2–2 kb, about 15–20 days for 2–3 kb, and about 25–30 days for 4.5–5 kb. Sequences longer than 5 kb and difficult sequences with high GC content or repeats require evaluation before the turnaround time and quotation can be confirmed.
Yes. Before synthesis, we provide a complimentary sequence assessment covering GC content, repetitive sequences, secondary structure, and toxicity prediction. Strategies may include codon optimization, segmented synthesis, switching to a low-copy vector, and using specialized host strains. The assessment report is provided within one business day.
Before delivery, each synthesized gene is verified by Sanger sequencing and aligned against the confirmed reference sequence. The original .ab1 chromatogram files and a sequence alignment report are included. If a quality issue is confirmed to have been caused by us, the gene will be resynthesized at no additional charge in accordance with the agreed terms.
More than 200 vectors are available at no additional cost, including prokaryotic expression vectors (pET, pGEX, pMAL, pCold, and pBAD), mammalian expression vectors (pcDNA3.1, pCMV, pEF, pIRES, and lentiviral systems), cloning vectors (pUC57/19/18, pBluescript, and T vectors), as well as yeast and insect vectors. We can also use a vector supplied by you.

The In-Stock Gene Library is a ready-to-use plasmid resource platform containing constructs built and sequence-verified by Zhiyin Biotechnology. It includes tens of thousands of in-stock plasmid records covering more than 30 species and multiple vector systems. Custom cloning requires template preparation, amplification, construction, screening, and sequencing from scratch. In-stock plasmids have already completed these steps, avoiding construction lead time and the risk of construction failure while offering advantages in price and delivery time.
The library currently contains tens of thousands of in-stock plasmid records. It covers animal species including human, mouse, rat, rabbit, pig, dog, cat, monkey (rhesus and cynomolgus macaques), chicken, duck, zebrafish, grass carp, fruit fly, tropical clawed frog, Chinese hamster, goat, sheep, horse, cattle, guinea pig, naked mole-rat, giant panda, Sumatran orangutan, and chimpanzee, as well as plant species such as soybean and Arabidopsis.
