The In-Stock Gene Library is a ready-to-use plasmid resource platform containing constructs built and sequence-verified by Zhiyin Biotechnology. It includes tens of thousands of in-stock plasmid records covering more than 30 species and multiple vector systems. Custom cloning requires template preparation, amplification, construction, screening, and sequencing from scratch. In-stock plasmids have already completed these steps, avoiding construction lead time and the risk of construction failure while offering advantages in price and delivery time.

The library currently contains tens of thousands of in-stock plasmid records. It covers animal species including human, mouse, rat, rabbit, pig, dog, cat, monkey (rhesus and cynomolgus macaques), chicken, duck, zebrafish, grass carp, fruit fly, tropical clawed frog, Chinese hamster, goat, sheep, horse, cattle, guinea pig, naked mole-rat, giant panda, Sumatran orangutan, and chimpanzee, as well as plant species such as soybean and Arabidopsis.

The library contains three main types: ① In-stock expression plasmids, which include promoters such as CMV and EF1 and can be transfected directly into mammalian cells for overexpression and protein-function studies; ② lentiviral plasmids, whose backbones are suitable for downstream lentivirus packaging and for infecting difficult-to-transfect cells such as primary cells, stem cells, and suspension cells; and ③ cDNA templates, which are template plasmids without expression elements and are suitable as PCR amplification templates for your own cloning work.

Three methods are recommended: ① Enter the gene symbol, alias, NCBI Gene ID, RefSeq NM accession, or Zhiyin catalog number (for example, pZYPC029610) in the search box on the In-Stock Gene Library page; ② filter first by species and plasmid type, then narrow the results using promoter, marker, tag, and other criteria; or ③ if no result is found, submit the “Request a Sample” form on the page and we will search the library and respond.

You can choose a custom service. If a suitable template is available, select cDNA/ORF cloning, with turnaround as fast as 5–15 calendar days. If the gene must be obtained from your sample, select PCR cloning. If no template is available, or codon optimization or sequence modification is required, select gene synthesis, with turnaround as fast as 1–7 calendar days. We can also perform a complimentary sequence assessment first and recommend an appropriate solution.

In-stock plasmids have already completed construction, screening, and sequence verification. Because template preparation, cloning, and positive-clone screening are not required, they are generally less expensive than custom cloning with equivalent specifications and do not carry the risk of construction failure. Custom cloning typically takes 5–25 calendar days depending on fragment length and difficulty, whereas in-stock plasmids can be scheduled for shipment once the order is confirmed, making them suitable for time-sensitive projects.

All in-stock plasmids are produced according to Zhiyin’s unified QC standards. Sequence accuracy is verified by Sanger sequencing, and a certificate of analysis (COA) provides key parameters such as concentration and purity (A260/A280). If the delivered sequence does not match the page description, or if concentration or purity fails to meet the stated specifications, we will replace or reship the product at no additional charge after confirmation.
